Eucalyptus Dawn
On summer mornings, the bay fog slips into the hills near my home in the Oakland hills, cloaking everything in a dynamic veil of damp mystery. On the June morning that I took this photo, it was sunny and clear at my house, but I could see the morning fog in the nearby canyons. An easy two mile drive down Skyline Drive brought me to this little eucalyptus grove where I discovered this lovely grouping of branches gracefully threading their way through the early morning mist. This photograph reminds me of a Japanese brush painting.
