Sulphur Dioxide Gas Erupting from the Halemaumau Crater: Volcanoes National Park
On the Big Island of Hawaii. This eruption began in March, 2008. Rangers at the park say that they expect a "big event" any day. This sulphur dioxide gas is creating very "voggy" conditions on the northwest side of the island. Everyone will be relieved when the air eventually clears, since it totally obscures the sun.
